This is a mood board. I have never done a mood board before! Usually when I am thinking about a room, I do it in a series of pictures, but I thought I would try something new. I am trying out a new version of Photoshop called Photoshop Elements, so I thought I would see what it could do. I used to work with a full version of Photoshop, but they only let you use the free membership for 30 days before you have to buy it. And a full version of Photoshop costs $600+ to buy, so that was a no go. When a blog I follow, teal & lime, posted about her mood boards and how she made them, she mentioned Photoshop Elements and that it was only $80 so I thought I would look into it. So far I am pretty pleased.
Never the less, I thought I would try my hand at a mood board. I took major elements I already have, the couch, ottoman, and rug, and added things I would like to have, like a wall of bookshelves and those awesome yellow end tables from Crate and Barrel (or some knock offs I make with wood :) )
Here is a list of items in the mood board:
Couch & Ottoman- Ikea, Kivik Collection, Color- Dansbo Dark Gray. I own both of these pieces and I am in LOVE!
Rug- Ikea, Aborg High Pile, 5'7 x 7'10. I also own this and it is the softest, squshiest rug ever. You must buy it.
End Table- Crate and Barrel, Mimic Lemongrass Cube. I saw this and fell in love. It is metal and glass, but I think I would like it better in wood.
Accent Pillows- Etsy, Outdoor Accent Pillow. I don't really love buying pillows, these are just inspiration to make some cool pillows in a fun accent color like Coral.
Wall of Bookshelves- This image is from a blog I love, Centsational Girl, and she built a wall of built in shelves using Ikea Billy Bookcases. I love ikea and I love the look, so this is a must have for me!
This mood board is a work in progress. It really is missing something blue :) But I got tired last night and decided to stop lol.
So this is my non-expert first version of a mood board. What do you think!?
