As you probably could have guessed from my Christian Grey themed absence, I have been reading A LOT this summer. Unfortunately with my days being longer, I really only have two hours at home at night before I am getting ready to go to bed. I feel awful. But I really love reading.

It's my party, I can dress how I want to!
So my 25th birthday is coming up, and I am taking the opportunity to celebrate before I get too old to party like I'm 25 lol. I am very excited for the birthday festivities and part of this is getting a new birthday outfit! For ease of shopping, I plan to look at Maurices, so all of these outfits are pieces from there.

Color Me Rad
The time has come that I am itching to try another 5K. Andy and I did our first 5K back in last September and it was an awesome, and challenging experience. After that I definitely knew I wanted to do another one, and there is a 5K coming up in Denver at the end of September that sounds like a ton of fun! Color me Rad.
I have a few friends (and interwebs acquaintances) that have run it and had a great time. The premise is that you run (or walk) the 5K like normal, but along the way people throw bags of colored corn starch at you, so you end up looking like this:
Sounds like my idea of a good time! This time, tho, we plan on training a little for the run, unlike last time. We discovered that was a baaaaaaad idea. So we have begun jogging more on our walks with Max, and will really start a routine this week, with 7 weeks to go. I want to be able to jog a good portion of it (I will set a specific amount when we see what is capable through training) and I want to lower my time by at least 10 minutes. We finished our first 5K in 1hr and 5 minutes, walking pushing a baby in a stroller. I definitely think we can do it in 55 (17.5 min mile = soooo doable).
So I will update you on our training progress and how this all turns out as it goes! The race is September 29th, so let the countdown begin!

Stuff I Love- White Faux Taxidermy
I love to blog about stuff I love. If I were married to Christian Gray and had a billion gazillion dollars, I would be surrounded by all the things I love. The good news is, I'm not and I am luckily married to a completely sane awesome guy who doesn't have a billion gazillion dollars so I am surrounded by people I love, and I get to look at things I love on the internet in my free time :)
Alas, I have fallen completely in love with a company on Etsy. If you are my friend on Facebook, you know this because I share their things all.the.time.
This little company makes amazing works of art. They do exactly what their name says. They make faux taxidermy that is white, and you can leave it that way, or they will make it whatever color you want!
Like them on Facebook! You get to see updates from them all the time, and they are always coming out with newfriends products for you to love :)
Here are a few of my favorites!
The Agnes was love at first sight for me. It was her beautiful sea foam color with those incredible sparkle antlers. I was smitten. I knew I had to see more of this companies creations!
This is my friend The Calhoun. I like to pretend his brother, the Haxton was made especially for me :) This screen shot feeds my ego :)
This guy makes my hard melt and feeds my deep seeded obsession with dinosaurs. He makes me smile and he is so cheerful in that amazing turquoise. As you can tell, Andy has had to keep the credit cards under lock and key to keep our house from becoming a colorful menagerie.
I couldn't bare the thought of bringing him home without his sister, the Kira. She is pretty in pink, if I say so myself!
Oh man, this company has everything! Lions, Tigers, Bears (oh my!) Elephants, Deer, Moose, Rhinos, Skulls, Wolves, Alligators, SHARKS, Bison, Zebras, Buffalo Skulls, and DINOSAURS!

I am head over heals in love with both of these guys. The sparkle horns of my friend the Calhoun remind me of my childhood favorite animal (and close relative to the Rhino) the Unicorn. I just can't resist those darn sparkle horns! And his brother the Haxton is manly and stoic, with his incredible silver shiny horns. Oh man I could be lost in those for days! And the idea that he was made just for me makes me swoon!

Blame it on Christian
I am SO SORRY I have been MIA this week. My job has been a little crazy and I am trying to get used to being out of the house for 12 hours. By the time I get home and eaten, I want to go to bed or go on a kindle date with my new lover, Christian Grey.
That's right, I have joined the hoards of women reading 50 Shades of Grey.
I must say they are very entertaining, and have kept me enthralled. I read the first one in 3 days, just on the train to and from work (and sometimes after work). I am in the middle of #2 and I expect to finish the third one by the middle of next week. THEN I am all yours! If only I had wifi on the train, I could blog while I commute... I may have to look into that.
Anyhoo, sorry and I promise things will get a lot less dusty around here soon!!
